55 watts, double-ended, pre-heat start, T8, linear germicidal ultra-violet (UV) lamp with G13 base, primary emmission 253.7 nm, ozone free. Lamp referenced either as G55 T8 OF or HNS 55W G13.

The OSRAM PURITEC HNS germicidal lamps provide highly effective UV-C irradiance at 254nm, which provides the needed effect for purification, without the use of toxic chemicals. These lamps are ideal for both air and water purification systems. PURITEC HNS lamps are reliable and efficient sources with long service life in excess of 8,000 hours. In addition, the special outer glass tube absorbs the lower wavelengths, suppressing the formation of ozone and ensuring environmentally friendly sterilization.

Safety advice

To prevent possible serious injury, eyes and skin should not be exposed to direct or reflected ultraviolet light emitted by this lamp. This lamp is in Risk Group 3 per ANSI/IESNARP-27.3-96. Adequate protection should be provided by clothing, gloves, opaque materials, and ordinary window glass. Although this lamp will operate in standard fluorescent fixtures, it should not be used for general lighting applications.​
